Holding Hands Can Ease Pain and Sync Brainwaves.

Holding Hands Can Ease Pain and Sync Brainwaves.

Turns out The Beatles had it all figured out, but make sure you’re both vaccinated.

Reach for the hand of a loved one and not only will your breathing and heart rate synchronize with theirs, your brain wave patterns will couple up too.

This sounds like a really good idea to us.

A study by researchers from CU Boulder published in the journal of The National Academy of Sciences, also found that the more empathy a comforting partner feels for a partner in pain, the more their brainwaves fall into sync.

Pain covers a lot of ground.

Could be Covid19 Stress, loss and just a plain old case of the lonelies in isolation.

The more our brain waves sync with someone else: the more the pain goes away.

Merely being in each other’s presence, with or without touch is associated with some brain wave synchronicity of a wavelength associated with focused attention. But, if you add touch?

Well, the rest is up to you.

This season of Valentines?

Find someone you care for and find the interpersonal touch that can blur that magical border between self and the one you love.

Music helps too.

Until you find that right hand to hold, enjoy a little hand holding with the Fab Four:
