Feel that chill on the air? It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas everywhere you go in the Cloud.
Today 96.9 the Cloud kicks off the holiday season with our friends from Jim Smith’s Golden Real Estate. This season until Santa’s big day, count on hearing the perfect amount of Christmas music in the Cloud to make your holiday shiny & bright.
We’ve selected holiday classics, blended with our Fun + Fresh music mix to make your heart smile.
96.9 the Cloud celebrates our friends at Foothills Animal Shelter this holiday season with a very special Foothills for Foothills event.
Foothills has been serving Jefferson County, Colorado and the entire metro since 1976. The work is funded in part by the support of our local Colorado Community.
Each and every year the shelter manages to take care of over 8000 puppies, cats and critters with a caring and thoughtful staff.
Together with our advertising partners at Foothills Motorcycles, we connected for a special weekend featuring the animal shelter.
This collaborative event was designed to raise both funds and awareness for this very special place in the Cloud.
The entire event was a Colorado & Company feature on KUSA-TV:
We are very thankful to have been instrumental in building a meaningful event for our community partners with a special thank you to all.
Including Liz Maddy (pictured – marketing director at Foothills Animal Hospital), Katie Hemenover (events manager at Foothills Motorcycles), Karen Rocznik (producer at Colorado & Company) and our gracious and elegant TV host: Denise Plante.

KKCL is owned and operated by myself and my friend and business partner Bob Greenlee.
I was born here in Colorado, CU Boulder and then DU grad. Then off to manage some of the most admired radio stations in the country. Including some of the most successful radio stations here at home (including KOSI-FM, KHOW-AM and the Mile in Vail).
Bob and his wife Diane are the original founders of KBCO-FM in Boulder and KXPK-FM (the Peak) in Denver.
Several trips around the sun, Bob and I have been business partners for over 20 years!
Our up-and-down and all around weather in Colorado can actually impact your vibe.
Whether you struggle with natural day-to-day worries or a clinically diagnosed disorder, you may need support for common anxiety.
Conventional treatments like medicine and psychotherapy are popular ways of dealing with anxiety, but there are many natural approaches — including some fairly simple (and perhaps unexpected) lifestyle adjustments that work well with our Colorado lifestyle.
Here are a few of the most common natural remedies for anxiety:
What goes in is what comes out.
A well-balanced diet is one of the most important and well-known facets of dealing with stress and anxiety.
It’s also crucial to drink plenty of water and limit trips to Starbucks and, well booze (especially alone).
We’ve sent happy couples to some remarkable resorts, dinners and venues to celebrate our second year on the air in Colorado.
So far? The Cloud has introduced our listeners to the classic luxury of Golden’s Table Mountain Inn, Arvada’s Hilton Garden, The Belmar Hyatt House and Lakewood’s Sheraton Hotel.
Now as we enter our third year on-the-air, one happy couple is heading to one of the most unique resorts on the planet. Recently featured in the Sunday New York Times: Colorado’s Historic Chautauqua Retreat in the heart of the Boulder.
Located at the foot of the iconic Flatirons, Chautauqua has over 40 miles of open space hiking trails, cultural programming, dining onsite and no two cottages are alike.
The historic Pearl Street Mall and the beautiful University of Colorado campus are nearby—within a leisurely stroll or short drive.
Our lucky listeners are automatically eligible to win by liking the Cloud on Facebook.
We have featured some of Colorado’s best spots in the Cloud.
Winning is a simple Cloud click. Just like our Facebook Page and you are entered for our next Date-Cation.
Date-cations in the Cloud are proudly sponsored by Jim Smith’s Golden Real Estate, Body in Balance Wellness Center, Urban Motors in Lakewood and Hot Water Now: all in Jefferson County, Colorado.

Rain or shine there’s always a line at Tamale Kitchen on South Kipling and Belleview in Jefferson County.
It might very well be due to the ever tasty and always filling breakfast burritos and Mexican deliciousness served all day. For as long as anyone can remember there have always been breakfast burritos in Colorado.
Cloud Pick: Tamale Kitchen in Jeffco
The Cloud salutes this savory creation that begins with these key ingredients and ends with a nice warm tummy.
First, creamy rich chili, gently whipped and scrambled fresh eggs, nicely diced and roasted potato, shredded monterey jack cheese, all delicately wrapped in a warm fluffy flour tortilla.
At this point of culinary bliss your only real dilemmas: red or green chili, smothered or wrapped in foil.
Happy Mother and Daughter at Tamale Kitchen
Tamale Kitchen on Kipling and Belleview is a local treasure and worth the stop anytime. As winter’s alpine season finally begins, its every snow ski or boarders first stop (perhaps after Starbucks) in Jeffco.
On warmer days it’s also the first stop (okay, maybe second after Starbucks) of every golfer and mountain biker in the Colorado.
You have not loved and lost until one of the many pesky magpies at Fox Hollow Golf Course in Jefferson County steals your Tamale Kitchen breakfast burrito on the number one tee.
All rolled in a warm fluffy flour tortilla, gently whipped farm fresh eggs and cheese with legendary green chili pork gravy.
When you think about Colorado comfort food, there’s little wonder about what the harvest from magical places like Pueblo have been yielding for almost centuries: Colorado Green Chili.
More of a gravy actually, authentic Colorado Green (as it’s often reverently referred too) has become a staple to many a Fall meal (best served with a warm fluffy tortilla).
Comforting, calming and tasty.
It also comes as no surprise that The Alley’s genuinely caring General Manager Tommy Scarbrough thoughtfully chose the backdrop of The Alley’s Annual Green Chili Festival to promote funds and awareness for The Beautiful Scar Project.
Now in it’s second year: The turnout was breathtaking.
From the The Alley’s Main Street patio through the authentically local restaurant and welcoming bar. There were families with children. Smiling couples, singles and just happy locals filling The Alley throughout the Saturday event. There was even face painting for children (and a few brave parents) and corn hole flats in The Alley’s wildly popular food truck back patio (actually in the Littleton Post Office alley).
Within the crowd, dozens of local Chili Chefs we tending to a perfect formation of crock pots as far as the eye could see. Green Chili with Chicken, Green Chili with Pork (of every variety from pulled to roasted) and one adventurous batch made with Tofu.
At the end of the afternoon event, the room became peacefully silent as the seriousness of the moment became center stage.
The Beautiful Scar Project is a non profit organization created by Scott and Kim Woods after their son, Caleb Calvin, was born still on December 12th, 2011.
The Beautiful Scar Project’s mission is to provide families grieving the death of their infant due to miscarriage, stillbirth, and neonatal death the tools to turn the loss of their much loved and desired baby into a beautiful scar.
As Scott and Kim thanked everyone for their support, it became clear that not only The Alley, but the City of Littleton cares about its people, its friends and community.
Our loyal listeners have described the Cloud on Facebook as a musical journey with a sound similar to personalized playlists found on their smartphones with a local Colorado flavor.
We accomplish this distinctive sound by creatively blending our new music discoveries with Adult Rock and Alternative Music that sounds like: Colorado.
Our primary measured audience (by Nielsen Ratings Company) is between the ages of 30-to-50 with a breathtaking amount of time spent listening throughout the entire day.
Binge Radio: The average Cloud listener spends over 5 hours a week with us.
Which is nice.
It seems to be working.

Plus, an additional 50-thousand unique monthly listeners enjoy the Cloud online (all in Denver County).

Right after 96.9 the Cloud signed on the air last year, it was clear to us that there was a need to seek out local bands that have what’s now known as “the cloud sound” that our listeners have come to expect.
We did not have to look far.
Right in are own backyard of Golden, Colorado we found the perfect local match for the Cloud.
Emma Cole (lead vocal), Josh Hester, Seth Beamer and Caleb Thoemke. Now touring and appearing on i-Heart Media venues and recently on NBC-TV.
We are Cloud Proud of Wildermiss. Still heard daily on 96.9 the Cloud.
